Alex Fon Sing

Chairman
Alex Fon Sing is a distinguished Mauritian professional with a lifetime of achievements across business, diplomacy, and public service. A Royal College alumnus from Port Louis, he has contributed significantly to multiple sectors including property development, construction, insurance, stockbroking, and travel.
Recognised for his unwavering commitment and leadership, he was awarded the prestigious title of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1987, for his contributions to trade and industry. Further underscoring his international reputation, he was honoured in 2016 as Chevalier de l’Ordre Grand-Ducal de la Couronne de Chêne by the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. From 1992 to 2015, Mr. Fon Sing served as the Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Mauritius, fostering strong bilateral relationships and supporting diplomatic initiatives.

Ben Lim

Ben Lim is the Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Trust Ltd and has been actively involved in the Mauritius international financial services sector since its inception in the early 1990’s. Ben is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and has significant experience in international tax planning. 

Ben is a past board member of Mauritius Finance and a past President of the Association of Trust and Management Companies in Mauritius. He is also a member of the following bodies:

  • International Fiscal Association
  • Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners
Ben was a Founding and Executive Committee Member of the Asia Pacific Offshore Institute (“APOI”). He sat on the board of Standard Bank (Mauritius) Ltd. He was, until March 2015, a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Investment, the apex government organisation responsible for the promotion of Mauritius. Ben served as a member of the Financial Services Consultative Committee (“FSCC”) which was constituted pursuant to the Financial Services Act 2007 under the Chairmanship of the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Finance & Economic Development.
Ben is a member of the Young Presidents Organisation (“YPO”) Mauritius Chapter and the YPO Pan African Chapter. He is also the Deal Network Champion for YPO for East and West Africa.
Ben is the Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Mauritius.

Varounen Goinden

Chief Operating Officer

Varounen Goinden is the Chief Operating Officer of Intercontinental Trust Ltd. Prior to joining ITL in April 2023, Varounen has served in leadership roles for Fund, Trust and Corporate Administrators.

Specialised in the structuring and administration of Investment Funds and Corporate vehicles, he has been responsible for overseeing a sizable portfolio of regulated global entities including global mutual funds, hedge and private equity funds.

He is a FCCA, holder of an executive MBA from IAE Paris – Sorbonne Business School and has also graduated with a BSc Finance with Law from the University of Mauritius.

Varounen is a Board member of Mauritius Finance, the apex industry body for Financial Services in Mauritius.

Tommy Lo

Director

Tommy Lo is a Director of Intercontinental Trust Ltd. He has worked for several years in the UK, specialising in auditing and taxation. He was the Finance Director of a major local group involved in activities as varied as property, financial services, trading and leisure and greatly contributed in the setting up of the Provident Real Estate Fund, the first authorised Mutual Fund in Mauritius.
Tommy is a stockbroker (Investment Dealer Type 1) licensed by the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and a Director of Capital Market Brokers Ltd, a stock broking firm operating on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
Tommy is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners as well as a member of the International Fiscal Association. Tommy holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Francoise Chan

Françoise Chan is an Executive Director of Intercontinental Trust Ltd (ITL).
With a career spanning over 3 decades in the financial services industry, she advises multinationals, financial institutions, fund managers and high net worth individuals in the structuring and administration of companies, funds and trusts in Mauritius.
Prior to joining ITL, Françoise held senior positions in institutions like Arthur Andersen and Barclays Bank Plc.
Françoise is a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIOD), the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).  A past board member of Mauritius Finance and of the Association of Trust and Management Companies in Mauritius, Francoise currently serves as board member on the UN Global Compact Network Indian Ocean.
She holds a DEA (Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies) in banking and finance and a Maîtrise in Econometrics from the University of Paris 1 Sorbonne, France. She also holds a Magistere d’Economie delivered by the same university in conjunction with ULM (L’Ecole Normale Supérieure) et L’E.H.E.S.S. (L’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales) of Paris, France.

Yan Ng

Yan Ng is an Executive Director of Intercontinental Trust Limited. He specialises in the structuring and administration of investment funds and listed companies.
He is a Board member of a number of funds and listed companies in Mauritius. He was previously with Baker Tilly Mauritius and Deloitte in Luxembourg and was trained as a Chartered Accountant in London.
He was the treasurer of the International Fiscal Association (Mauritius branch) and of the Association of Trust and Management Companies. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Yan graduated from the University of Mauritius (BSc (Hons.)) with a degree in Management and achieved a Masters in Finance (MSc) from Lancaster University. He also completed the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Willem du Preez

Executive Director

Willem Du Preez is an Executive Director of Intercontinental Trust Ltd (ITL). He heads the South African Representative Office which primarily focuses on assisting South African Clients with their requirements for global expansion.

Willem is an experienced consultant assisting companies with their expansion into Africa, providing assistance with the implementation of the company’s strategic objectives. This includes but is not limited to providing input into business strategy and structuring, incorporating and maintaining corporate structures throughout globally, compliance with tax and legal requirements and managing business risk.

He has experience in the core aspects of starting, operating and maintaining business in Africa and helps clients to find sustainable solutions to the challenges that are usually encountered when venturing into a new business territory, particularly in Africa. He is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), Registered Auditor (South Africa) and a member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa (IODSA).
Willem holds an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in association with the International Institute for Tax and Finance.

Kesaven Moothoosamy

Kesaven Moothoosamy is an Executive Director of ITL and a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in the Mauritius Financial Services industry. His rich expertise spans across fund structuring and administration, investment evaluation and cross border structuring, strategic transaction advisory to business valuation, deal origination, negotiation and execution, equity/debt capital raising, M&A and listing on Securities Exchanges.

Kesaven has been a founding Executive Director of Perigeum Capital Ltd, the ¬first licensed corporate ¬finance advisory ¬firm in Mauritius, and is presently a board member on various funds and investment holding companies in Mauritius.

He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certi¬fied Accountants UK (FCCA), a member of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA) and member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD). Kesaven has a degree in Accounting with Information System and an MBA with focus on Leadership and Innovation from the Ducere Business School, Australia. He has also followed inspiring leadership programme from the Alliance Manchester Business School.

Teddy Lo

Finance Director

Teddy Lo is the Finance Director of Intercontinental Trust Limited. He was previously Manager in the Fund Administration department. He worked for six years in a firm of Chartered Accountants in London, where his areas of responsibilities were auditing, accounting and taxation.
He also worked for Deloitte in Mauritius where he was involved in the listing of a major local bank on the Mauritius Stock Exchange. He spent eleven years in Canada where he gathered valuable experience in the field of accounting and finance in North America.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also holds a Mauritius Stockbroker Examination Certificate.

Clifford Fon Sing

Non-Executive Director
Clifford James Fon Sing has been a Director of Intercontinental Trust Ltd since its early years, bringing over three decades of leadership and industry expertise. He joined his family’s business- Jade Group in 1989 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University College London.
With deep experience in both the property and financial services sectors in Mauritius, Clifford plays a strategic role in guiding corporate direction and governance.
